James co-founded Erso Capital in 2020 and serves as a director. James has enjoyed a 20-year + unique and entrepreneurial career exclusively in the litigation finance and risk transfer industry. Prior to establishing Erso, James was a principal at TheJudge, widely regarded as one of Europe’s premier litigation insurance and funding brokerages.
In late 2019, TheJudge was acquired by Thomas Miller Group, a leading international insurance service provider and investment manager. James continues to hold a directorship in TheJudge. Utilizing all the financial instruments available through Erso and its affiliates, James prides himself on being able to apply his significant market experience in order take a holistic and flexible approach to structuring litigation investments.
James has contributed as author and thought leader on litigation finance and insurance topics for over 15 years, both in mainstream press such as the FT and The Times, as well as in legal publications, such as The Lawyer and Global Arbitration Review. James’ career in this specialist sector has seen him undertaking roles as broker, underwriter and now fund manager. James holds a master’s degree in Law.
